About PrevTools™

How is the Site Structured?

 

The site is structured into four main tool-sets. Each comes with a FREE video and/or activity. These come from a broader program, called IntelliPrev™. You can use these all you want and share them with others. Just let us know what you think. Each tool-set comes with an UPGRADE! option; you can receive more customized feedback and coaching to help you process and apply the tool.

How Does PrevTools™ Work?

Please explore the site and learn on your own. Here are some quick pointers about each tool-set. Use any one or all of them.

 

Your Role: People do not easily understand that prevention takes time; the results of wellness may not be seen for months or years. Such short-sighted thinking is hard to address in a fast-paced, consumer-based, “show me the money” society. The tools in “Your Role” help you think differently. They help you to help others think differently – so that you (and them) can be effective champions and overcome the “time prison” mentality.

 

Get Ready: In “Your Role,” you reflect on yourself. In “Get Ready,” you reflect on the organization of interest and its cultural readiness. The tool in “Get Ready” provides a multi-faceted view of readiness. You pin-point those areas, allies, and processes to leverage for improving your chances of success.

 

Get Started: “Get Started” means shifting from an interpersonal viewpoint, to an organizational perspective, to going deeper into the seven core dimensions of workplace health. “Get Started” uses our flagship tool: The Health and Productivity Climate Index™ (or HPC Index™). Complete this survey by yourself and we encourage coaching for profile interpretation. When you are ready, we will help you implement the HPC with others in the work setting (management, teams, departments, and the organization as a whole).

Estimate ROI: Many wellness programs require financial justification. The estimation tool trains you on the complexities of return-on-investment. Then, following your data inputs, it allows you to estimate: (1) how much you should spend on programs; (2) how much you can reduce costs associated with disease; (3) how much you can save on those costs; and (4) your return-on-investment.

PrevTools™ is designed so you can go at your own pace, use any tool at any time, and upgrade at any time. Upgrades give you more detailed feedback and full access to all tools. You receive discounts if you purchase the “ROLE-READY-GO Suite", where you get the three main tools at a single time. You also receive discounts if you purchase coaching along with any tool you use.

 

In addition, you may decide that you want to become certified as a PrevCoach™.

PrevCoach™ certification means that you systematically use all the tools in PrevTools™ as well as additional tools in IntelliPrev™, the parent or base-system from which this program was developed. As a PrevCoach™ you can receive discounts on the use of the HPC Index if you wish to use it in a business setting for multiple users. PrevCoach™ uses the e-learning system inside IntelliPrev™ that is proven to enhance your knowledge, skills, and motivation for prevention coaching for a culture of health. Generally, we suggest that users become familiar with all the tools in PrevTools™ and receive coaching before they would start PrevCoach™ certification.
